‘Dancing at Dusk’ is a one-off original artwork by Australia-based encaustic artist, Tanya Ogilvie-White. It is part of the 2023 Dreamscapes series, which is inspired by the Brunswick River and the hinterland hills beyond. In this piece, three little finches are fluttering among the wild grasses just beyond the riverbank, as the light fades to dusk.

The magical atmosphere created by this artwork is achieved by burning layers of hardened beeswax and raw pigments into cradled wooden panels until an ethereal 3D image emerges. The triptych captures the dreaminess of the moment, distilling it forever.
