I photographed this rainbow lorikeet perching in the swamp banksia tree outside our front door. I knew it would make a beautifully ethereal scene for an encaustic artwork, so I printed it as an enlarged photograph, bonded it to wood, and added several layers of hot wax, pastels and ink.

The materials used in this artwork are all archival quality, and the back of the panel is prepped with picture hardware, ready to hang.
