A$2,500.00

Dimensions: 50cm x 45 cm

Materials: Encaustic, cold wax, resin and raw pigments on cradled wooden panel

Perfect Day shows a colourful Rainbow Bee-eater, perching in a pandanus palm on Australia's sub-tropical east coast, in a wild nature reserve just north of the town of Byron Bay. Through the branches and fronds, sunlight is reflecting on the turquoise waters of the Pacific Ocean on a calm day.

This piece is part of the 2024-5 Wild Coast series, created by combining hot and cold wax with raw pigments and hardeners to create a layered and carved surface that has texture and depth.

This museum-grade wooden panel is best left unframed. The back is cradled and braced, and the unique encaustic edges are part of the artwork.

The back is prepped with picture hardware, ready to hang.
