Point Break
Point Break
Dimensions: 42×30cm
Encaustic (beeswax with hardeners and resin) on cradled wooden board.
‘Point Break’ shows an Australian black-backed gull (the largest member of the gull family) preening its feathers on the shore as wild waves crash into the rocks behind it.
This unique work is an encaustic original, created using an ancient technique that involves burning layers of beeswax, hardeners and raw pigments into a wooden panel to create an archival painting. It’s part of the Wild Coast Series, which celebrates the beautiful coastal scenery and wildlife of Northern New South Wales.
The panel does not need to be framed (its unique edges are part of the artwork). The back of the panel is prepped with picture hardware, ready to hang.
Available for domestic and international shipping.
