Part of Tanya’s latest Velvet Calm Series (the originals will be exhibited at LAC Gallery, Lennox Head, in August 2024). It shows a male Superb Fairy Wren making the most of the last rays of light outside Toowoomba, flitting among the tall grasses and feeding on seeds and insects. The artist explains that watching and photographing them in the wild is a meditative experience, and transforming her images into original artworks that can be enjoyed by fellow nature lovers feels magical.
