This is a print of the original, which was created using the ancient Greek technique of burning layers of hardened beeswax and resin into a wooden substrate, using a live flame which permanently bonds each layer to the one beneath. The effect is dreamy and ethereal, with a soft glow that perfectly captures the magical moment when the sun disappears below the horizon, and the landscape softens into twilight. This piece shows two honeyeaters fluttering up from wild grasses as the sun sets on the river in the Australian beach town of Brunswick Heads.
