“The Velvet Calm” shows a white-cheeked honeyeater perching on a twig at the edge of the Brunswick River in Brunswick Heads, in the moments after the sun has disappeared. The feeling of peace and serenity is created by the softness of the twilight and the gentle glow of the reflections on the water.
